Lineth Beerensteyn joins Real Madrid from VFL Wolfsburg

Real Madrid have signed Lineth Beerensteyn from Wolfsburg, and is officially set to join on 1 July 2026. She will stay with Real Madrid through until 30 June 2029, signing a three-year contract with the club.

Lineth Beerensteyn talked about the move and began with ‘I am really happy to be here, it’s a really amazing club’ She is ‘very grateful for the opportunity to be here.’ Beerensteyn states ‘It’s the feeling and the team their plans, and I want to develop with the team, just like the plans’ She says ‘I think off the pitch I can have an important role towards the young players; being a leader.’ She is ‘definitely looking forward to start at this club and wanting to be part of the group who is gonna change and taking multiple trophies home’

Beerensteyn has a lot of experience playing in European leagues, also playing strongly for her club and country. Real Madrid are happy to have her at their club, adding a new addition to the squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Life after Wolfsburg

Beerensteyn used to play for Wolfsburg, where she played for two seasons. When she first joined the German side in 2024, she played a significant role, and scored in the Bundesliga that year.

Before Wolfsburg, she also played for Juventus. There, she won the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup. People thought she was one of the best attacking players in Europe.

Lineth additionally  played for Bayern Munich, where she won the Bundesliga title, being a crucial player for the club.

Career journey

Lineth Beerensteyn began her career at ADO Den Haag, winning two Dutch Cups. Then shortly after, she moved to FC Twente in 2016.

She played well in the Netherlands. 

Since then, she moved to Bayern Munich in 2017, playing in Germany. Also throughout her career, she’s played in Italy and now Spain.

She is a player who is rapid on the pitch, fast and can score goals. These are the qualities that make her respected in football.

Lineth is an experienced player, with her ability to play as striker, winger or wide forward, providing fast, quick movements on the pitch and being a constant threat to the opposition.

On the international side, Lineth Beerensteyn has played for the Netherlands. She was part of the team that won the UEFA Women's European Championship in 2017, alongside playing in international tournaments.

When she was younger, she also won the UEFA Women's Under-19 European Championship. This shows how important she has been to football, for a long time.
