The club’s values represent what I want to represent, and they are passionate about what I want to achieve and change the game in a positive way. All the conversations have been really positive and every time I spoke with the club, I wanted to hear more.” - Mary Earps said.

Life after PSG

Mary Earps spent two seasons at PSG, making a significant impact both on and off the pitch. During her time in Paris, she established herself as a key figure in goal, bringing experience, leadership and consistency to the squad while competing at the highest level of French and European football.

Mary Earps leaves PSG as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in the women’s game. Renowned for her exceptional shot-stopping ability, commanding presence and composure under pressure, she provides confidence and stability to any defensive unit. Earps excels in one-on-one situations, possesses strong distribution with both feet and demonstrates excellent decision-making when organising her back line. Her leadership qualities, vocal communication and wealth of experience at club and international level make her a valuable influence both on and off the pitch. Calm, reliable and highly competitive, Earps departed Paris having reinforced her reputation as a goalkeeper capable of delivering match-winning performances on the biggest occasions.

She has now signed permanently for London City Lionesses. The move signals a step forward in her career as she continues at the top level of the women’s game.

Comfortable playing out from the back, sweeping behind a high defensive line and launching attacks with accurate distribution, she can support both possession-based and more direct systems. Her tactical awareness, communication and ability to remain composed under pressure ensure she is a key figure regardless of the team’s tactical setup, making her one of the most influential players in the squad.

International team

Having made her senior debut for England in 2017, Mary Earps developed into one of the nation’s most influential and accomplished players before announcing her retirement from international football in 2025. A cornerstone of the Lionesses squad throughout her international career, she represented her country at major tournaments and played a pivotal role in England’s success on the biggest stages. Her performances at international level showcased her exceptional shot-stopping ability, composure under pressure and leadership from the back, establishing her as one of the world’s leading goalkeepers.

A key figure in England’s Euro 2022 triumph and subsequent international campaigns, Earps consistently demonstrated the quality, resilience and professionalism that cemented her status as one of the most trusted and respected players in the history of the England national team. Despite retiring from international football, her contributions to the Lionesses remain a significant part of her legacy and of England’s recent success.
