Aston Villa face Brighton at home this weekend in the WSL
This weekend Villa will face Brighton at 12:00 on Sunday. Last time these two sides went head to head it ended in a 0-0 draw but overall Villa have won 3 out of the last 5 times they have faced each other.
Aston Villa go into this game just a point behind Brighton. Natalia Arroyo said that the team ‘are having a good intensity, we are keeping clarity to some of the things we were doing in the first part of the season and what we want to do to grow, but everyone is with intentions and I have still time to think about the lineup'.
Villa will hope to win this fixture and move up to 7th in the league. Natalie Arroyo also gave the media injury updates informing us that the goalkeepers are battling for their place in the starting XI ‘goalkeepers fighting,3 of them because sofia is back in training'
In their last games of 2025 Villa suffered two defeats by City and Tottenham, and they will be looking to start the new year off with a win at home. Brighton also faced a defeat in their last game of 2025 so they will be also looking for this win.
Natalia Arroyo wasn’t shy to speak about there ‘intense December’ and how 'the break was good for us (Villa) to get the fresh legs that we couldn't have at the end of december when it was a little bit busier for us'
