The second matchday of the UEFA Women's Champions League kicked off with two games that could hardly have been more different.

OL Lyon – SKN St. Pölten (3–0)
Lyon dominated the game from the start. The French team combined quickly, putting St. Pölten under pressure with precise passing and creating numerous scoring opportunities early on. On the Austrian side, goalkeeper Schlüter stood out with several excellent saves.
After about half an hour, Brand scored the deserved opening goal, and Lyon continued to increase the tempo, scoring another goal shortly before half-time thanks to Hegerberg.
Lily Yohannes then provided the highlight of the evening in the 51st minute: noticing that Schlüter was positioned too far off her line, she struck from around ten metres inside the opponent's half. The ball flew in a high arc over the keeper and landed directly in the net – a goal for the highlight clips of the season.
Lyon remained dominant after that. Yohannes and the French Lionesses impressed with intelligence, vision, and courage, while St. Pölten struggled to make any real attacking impact.
Vålerenga IF – VfL Wolfsburg (1-2)
The match in Oslo was much tougher. As expected, Wolfsburg seemed to have visible difficulties adjusting to the unfamiliar artificial turf. Vålerenga pressed early and forced the Bundesliga team into many tackles. In the first half, the ‘Wolves’ lacked creative drive going forward, while the Norwegians remained dangerous on the counterattack.
After the half-time break, the game finally seemed to pick up pace: Lineth Beerensteyn took advantage of a mistake by the hosts in the 57th minute and scored . But just three minutes later, Sara Hørte equalised with a header from a cross by Sævik.
For a long time, it looked like the game would end in a draw, until VAR intervened in the 96th minute: after a handball in the penalty area, the referee awarded a penalty. Janina Minge kept her calm and confidently scored in the 98th minute to make it 2-1.
