From The Pitch to Motherhood, in a sport that demands everything, Katrina Gorry gave even more and became a mother. As a part of a visible LGBTQ+ family with her wife and two children, Harper and Koby, she showed emotional and mental strength post-baby and returning to football so powerfully!

Gorry gave birth to her daughter Harper in 2021, becoming the first player to have a baby whilst player for a national team. Gorry had to focus on her career in professional football alongside looking after Harper. But she had the whole Matilda’s squad and her fans supporting her. At the time, Steph Catley Australian Vice Captain said "I've been so in awe of her since she's come back from her pregnancy.”

From articles by Katrina, she stated that childbirth was not what she expected, whilst she was pregnant, she did as much research as she could. She even asked relatives about their experiences.

Today, Harper is a much-loved member of both the Matilda’s and Katrinas current team, West Ham United. She shows lots of support for her mum on the sidelines and even in press conferences. Katrina stated that “this is the only support I need”. You may have even seen the adorable bond with Harper and her Aussie aunts on the teams!

Now, Katrina is a proud mum of two alongside her wife, Clara Markstedt. Together, they’re raising their adorable children, Harper and Koby who, as we mentioned earlier, has already been stealing hearts. It’s clear that family is at the centre of Katrina’s world these days, and the love between them all is honestly so heart warming to see
