First up, Norway manager, Gemma Grainger very interestingly had Guro Reiten starting in the position left back yet usually plays attacking winger for her club (Chelsea) and her country. But could she begin to build up her confidence in this position after today’s game?

Italy created many fantastic opportunities throughout the first half, bustling through Norwegian defences. According to Rachel Corsie (Former Scotland Captain), she said “Caruso is one of those players who will go one v one.”

Also in the first half, a very close shot from Norway’s Ada Hegerberg who received a very exciting cross in from the left by a teammate. We thought this was in!

After a half time break, Italy knew it was time to get the goals rolling. So, at the 50th minute, C. Girelli scored the first goal of the game assisted by teammate S. Cantore.

Norway wanted change, they couldn’t go home yet and still had time for shots in the net. Midfielder Frida Maanum was replaced by striker Elisabeth Terland. Which made us wonder had Gemma Grainger moved to a 4-4-2?

Then 66 minutes in, the score became level when Norway had one long ball over the top, the defence hesitates and Italy keeper Laura Giuliani was slow to come out. Ada Hegerberg nipped in, and rolled a finish under Giuliani.

The suspense started to get real as it was heading up to the full time of 90mins. But all of a sudden, Girelli scored her second goal and an absolute screamer! 2-1 to Italy at 90 minutes. It's one of the best moments of WEURO25 so far.

At fulltime, this only meant one thing, Italy are the first semi finalists of 2025… and Norway’s Euro 2025 campaign has sadly come to an end after a great fight.

So now its time for the next three-quarter finals, who do you think is going home?
