London City are set to travel to Joie Stadium on Sunday to face Manchester City for the first time.
Fourth place finishers last season Man City have never lost to a newly promoted team at home but as London City creep up the table, will this record be stopped?
On Friday’s press conference, Jocelyn Precheur stated that “the team are staying focused” and how “the match will be a good opportunity to test the team’s level and gain experience” playing against some of the best players in the league.
Following her two goals last weekend aiding London City toward a win, Isobel Goodwin continues to show dedication and commitment to the game and was noted by Precheur as “a hardworking player.”
Manchester City lost their first match of the campaign, but proceeded to win the following two putting them fourth in the table with 6 points whereas newly promoted London City sit ninth with only one match won as of yet.
In the WSL, it is a well-known and recognised fact that teams who get promoted are often relegated the following season. However, this season, London City have scaled the table early on meaning that this may be subject to change.
Many fans look forward to the first exciting meeting between these two teams with the outcome somewhat unpredictable.
