Ipswich Town Women are playing at Portman Road for the second time for a 14:00

kick off against 11th place team Plymouth Argyle for the Women's National League;

Matchday 17.

Last time in this fixture:

On 13th October 2024, Ipswich Town played against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park in the

afternoon, where they won 5-1. The first goal of the game came in the 16th minute as

Shauna Guyatt took the corner which then came towards Leah Mitchell as she headed the ball in

the goal. Within the 45+2 minutes Plymouth scored, the goal scorer being Charlotte Whitmore. During the second half, Ipswich scored within 53th minute by Charlotte Fleming which was her first goal of the season by a volleying of a header into the net. Within the 58th minutes Angela Addison scored the third

goal by finding the back of the net. Then Ipswich Town captain Maria Boswell came on and scored

a goal by a close range tap in within the 89th minute to make it 4-1. The game went into injury time and

Charlotte Fleming scores her second goal within the 90+2 minutes by her first time finish in the

area.


How has Ipswich town women going so far within the season?

Ipswich women are currently sitting second place with 42 points on the WNL southern premier

division table having only played 17 games and won thirteen games, drawn two and lost one.

With two games in hand as they are only 3 points behind hashtag who are first on the table.


They managed to make it to the quarter final of the women’s fa cup in early January, but they

got knocked out due to a 3-0 defeat by Manchester city.


However that didn’t stop them losing games for their league games as they only lost 1 game on

3rd of march 2025 against hashtag by 1-0. With them close to promotion this season, they are

playing at portman road for the second time on the 23rd of march 2025 at 14:00 pm kick off

with attendance over 9,000 tickets that have been sold. With last season they only sold 10,173

and they hoping more bigger crowd to help them get push towards promotion as it a big thing

for them to play in the championship next season


How have Plymouth Argyle women gone so far within the season?

Plymouth Argyle are currently sitting eleventh place with 16 points on the WNL southern

premier division table having only played 19 games and they have won five games, drawn one

and lost thirteen. As Plymouth are at the bottom of the table fighting to not get relegated to the

division one in the WNL. However they are one point behind Billericay Town.


They managed to make it to the semi-finals in the FA WNL CUP 24/25 on the 26th January but

sadly they got defeated by 0-3 from Stoke city.


However they got that far in the FA WNL cup 24/25 they were fighting for that position not to

get relegated. They've got only four games left to be able to keep them out of the relegation zone. As

they play against Ipswich women on the 23rd march and both teams want the three points to

help them either not to get relegated or to help them get promoted. So it will be a tough game.

So Plymouth will need to be able to not lose any games to help them stay in the WNL southern
