Norway have been one of the most impressive teams at WEURO25 so far, cruising through Group A with three wins from three. They kicked things off with a big statement, a 2-1 win over hosts, Switzerland in front of a packed crowd. Since then, they've looked confident and composed. There's a great balance in this squad: experienced heads leading from the back and exciting young talent driving things forward. Their midfield has been key, keeping things ticking and linking up well with a sharp-looking attack. Now, with momentum fully on their side, Norway head into the quarter-finals full of belief. Italy will be a tough test, but this team looks ready for the challenge.
A key player for Norway would have to be the all-mighty Frida Maanum. She’s played all three games so far during the tournament and has scored two stunning goals into the net. Definitely keep your eye out for her!
Italy's journey to the quarter-finals hasn’t been straightforward, but they've shown real grit to get here. After a tough yet mixed start, they found their rhythm and finished second in Group B, digging deep when it mattered most. This is a team with flair and fight. The midfield has stepped up massively, and their front line is starting to click at just the right time. If they can keep that momentum going, Italy could cause real problems for anyone including a strong Norway side. Their group games had a mix of a win, draw and a loss yet still managed to secure a spot in the knockouts. And also watch out for Lisa Boattin who is a defensive machine essential! She’s 28yrs old, left back and full of defending methods and tactical thinking.
It’s all set to be a cracking quarter-final — two teams with different styles but plenty of quality. Norway come in flying, but Italy are hitting form at just the right time. Expect a tight, hard-fought contest with moments of real class. A place in the semi-finals is on the line, and neither side will want to let it slip.
