Chelsea end Arsenal's unbeaten run under Renée Slegers with a 1 - 0 win at Stamford Bridge. This means Chelsea are now nine points clear at the top spot.

Tensions were high in the build up to the London Derby. Both; Chelsea and Arsenal start with a strong and technical line-up. Chelsea with an extremely experienced Millie Bright at the back and Arsenal with an outstanding front line of Mead, Russo and Foord. 


Kick Off:

1' Chelsea get us underway at Stamford Bridge.

Macario's shot was on target with an exceptional strike for Van Domselaar to catch.


2' Kaneryd's shot went just over the bar. Chelsea were off to a strong start.


4' Goal Kick for Chelsea and Arsenal were showing more composition up top as well as defending.


5' Erin Cuthbert's shot was inches off target from a quick counter-attack from Chelsea.


8' Chelsea were playing a strong, technical and physical game as Arsenal were struggling to get on the ball.


9' After a scramble in the box, Katie McCabe cleared the ball away to keep both sides level.


13' Arsenal won the ball back high up the pitch to create their chances.


14' An incredible chance after an amazing cross into the box from Kyra Cooney-Cross for Mead, who struggled to get on the end of the cross.


22' Strong pressing from Chelsea to get the ball back from The Gunners.


24' Arsenal were continuing to create chances after Russo won the ball back high up the pitch but her shot went wide.


26' Another chance for Arsenal. Arsenal were attacking well and Mead couldn't get her shot on target before it was blocked by Niamh Charles.


28' Katie McCabe created a break for The Gunners however Niamh Charles was marking her and put the ball out for a corner.


29' An error at the back for Chelsea after a corner. Hampton kept the ball out of the net.


33' Free kick to Arsenal after a foul committed on Kim Little.


35' Shortly after, a chance was created for Chelsea however Van Domselaar made an excellent save.


41' Another chance for Arsenal. A clever touch from Russo who thread the ball into Little to pass to Mead, however she was unable to wrap her foot around it.


44' SUBSTITUTION FOR ARSENAL -

OFF: Caitlin FOORD

ON: Frida MAANUM.

Foord required treatment however, Arsenal were forced into an early substitution.


HALFTIME: 0 - 0

Very physical half from both sides. Going into the second half, both teams will need to bring players on to create more chances down the channels and put the ball into the back of the net.

45' Arsenal get us back underway after the break.


48' Corner for Chelsea which is whipped wide of the post.


49' Excellent save from Van Domselaar after an Arsenal defensive error.


54' Arsenal look uncomfortable defending at the back however Van Domselaar looks strong ahead of this second half.


55' Baltimore's shot went just over the bar.

ON: Lauren JAMES

L. James makes her first Women's Super League appearance in 2025. James was out for a while with an injury.


65' SUBSTITUTION FOR ARSENAL

66' A brilliant move from Arsenal but The Gunners are struggling to get the ball in the back of the net.


67' Another chance from Arsenal as Frida Maanum took a shot from outside the box. However, the ball was claimed by Hannah Hampton to keep the score level.


73' Arsenal were edging closer to the end as another chance from The Gunners. A second shot from Frida Maanum who hit the ball on the turn, however she couldn't get quite hit the target.


76' A free kick advantage was handed to Chelsea, however the flag went up which stopped the advantage from being played.


81' A straight red card for Arsenal, given to Katie McCabe. A foul was committed in the box as Lauren James heads down. A penalty was awarded to Chelsea.


83' Chelsea 1 - 0 Arsenal

Composed penalty taken by Guro Reiten, which put The Blues in front as the London Derby comes to an end.
