Scotland suffered a tough 4-0 loss at Tannadice in Fridays 2025 UEFA Women’s Nation’s League clash putting them last in Group One.

Scotland got off to a rough start losing a goal to Elisa Senß in the first minute with an astonishing strike and a brilliant team play putting Germany in the lead. Scotland tried their best to catch up to the lead, however, they were unable to get past Germany’s solid line of defence, with Franziska Kett at left back, Janina Minge and Sophia Kleinherne as centrebacks and Giulia Gwinn at rightback. Scotland did have a few promising chances, but can never seem to hit the back of the net, with a good strike from
Jenna Clark in the seventh minute, Berger manages to keep it into her hands.
In the 20th minute, Germany made a promising run, and in an attempt to defend the cross, Sophie Howard dives in and scores an unfortunate own goal boosting Germany’s lead by one. At the break, Scotland take off forward Eilidh Adams and put on Kirsty Hanson for a change up front. Not long after,
we saw the change was unaffective as Scotland concede another brilliant top corner strike inside the box from Cora Zicai after her being taken on in the second half, proving as an effective change for Germany.
And a quick three minutes after, Elisa Senß plays a great ball through to Lea Schüller and she finds the net with a powerful strike past Lee Gibson. After Schüller’s goal, Germany made some changes, taking Schüller off, and putting Giovanna Hoffman on, and taking Senß off and putting Sydney Lohmann on.
Shorty after Germany’s changes, Scotland had the same idea, switching Amy Rodgers with Lauren Davidson and Martha Thomas with Kirsty Maclean.
The rest of the game was goalless, only making substitutions, switching Franziska Kett with Alara Şehitler, Scotland switching Rachel McLauchlan with Kirsty Smith, Germany taking off Linda Dallmann and putting on Laura Freigang and lastly Scotland taking Caroline Weir off and putting on
Emma Watson.
Overall the game was mostly one sided, with Germany dominating and Scotland struggling to catch up to them. The game leaves Scotland still to get a point in the Nation’s League.
