Hayley Raso is an Australian winger who plays for Australia’s Women’s National Team and Tottenham Hotspur.
Raso is an exceptional forward known for her speed and agility on the pitch. But how did she get to where she is now?
Born in Gold Coast, Queensland, Hayley began her career at Canberra United in 2011. She made 17 appearances across two seasons at the club and was part of the squad that won the A-League title.
Hayley Raso made her debut for the Matilda's in the summer of 2012. Since then, she has represented her country multiple times, in many big tournaments.
She then moved to Brisbane Roar in 2013. After 2 years in Brisbane, winning lots of games and tournaments, she left Australian Football to move to America.
Halfway through the season, she joined Washington Spirit, making 9 appearances. After a year, Hayley moved back to Australia, and since then, she has played for various clubs in the W-League and the National Women's Soccer League.
In January 2020, Hayley joined Women's Super League side Everton, helping them reach the Women’s FA Cup Final.
After making 22 appearances and scoring 5 goals throughout the season of being in the Everton kit, Raso signed for Manchester City.
Whilst playing in the WSL she was also a part of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2020 Summer Olympics.
After being at Manchester City for 2 years, she decided to move to Real Madrid. Hayley Raso had a great season at the club and was also nominated for the Ballon d’Or alongside her Matilda's teammate Sam Kerr.
After a season in Spain, Hayley decided to depart, in an interview she said ‘’Due to the limit on foreign players in Spain, it’s time for me to move onto a new adventure’’.
In 2024, Raso signed for Tottenham Hotspur, she stated that she joined the North London club to find ‘’confidence’’ and achieve ‘’consistency’’. So far, Hayley has made 7 appearances at the club, whilst also still being a part of the Matilda's squad as well.
