London City Lionesses manager Eder Maestre spoke to the media yesterday ahead of their fixture on Sunday against Brighton.

Eder Maestre’s thoughts on Brighton.
‘Brighton I think is a really good team in position, they can change the shape with the defence and attack. They have very talented players in the midfield and in that winger and striker position, so in terms of position they are very dangerous.’ Eder also followed by stating how Brighton are a ‘well managed team’. The first thing is knowing that they are very strong with that kind of counter attack, defence will be necessary.’
How Eder Maestre is finding the differences between Spanish Leagues and the WSL.
‘I think the WSL is more physical, and the gaps to exploit are shorter because the way teams defend are more aggressive. I think all the things that happen are quicker, so in terms of making decisions, it's more demanding.
Eder on own team news and any injury updates.
‘I think it's something that we will see on the medical report, but we have some players that we are managing because one of them is recovering from a long period injury.’
Is Eder Maestre finding any changes in dynamics to the squad?
‘For sure, I really think we are moving forward in the way we train everyday and are reaching more physically so in those terms I am very happy because I think the whole process is improving. When you are able to train better, I really think that maybe the results are going to be better.’
How Eder plans on coming back from some games with mixed results.
‘I think the matches were difficult because Liverpool are a very nice team, we can see they are on the way to win. I think we are moving forward in the performance of the team. Last game against Manchester City, I think we deserved much more and we need to consider they are top of the league. We need to be ambitious to get our best performance. I think we started with some doubts in terms connected to the energy in which we were facing one of the top teams in the league, but I think when we started to recognise the pattern we started feeling more confident. So I am proud for the team on one hand, but we want more and we need to keep pushing to get the results.’

"We know that it's difficult, but it's the same, we prepare with hopes to win. All teams have the potential to be painful. It's a very beautiful competition and that demands us the chance to win. We need to be focused on ourselves, trying to be connected to our ambitions and dreams to win every week. If we are connecting with the energy that we showed last game, I think we are going to be closer to the chance to win every week and against every team.
