Starting off the second week of the January transfer window, one of the rumoured loans appeared to be true: FC Bayern Munich’s Sam Kerr has joined Liverpool on loan until the end of the season. The 25 year old midfielder joined Bayern Munich in 2023 winning the Women’s Bundesliga in her first season. She is also a Scottish international with more than 30 caps.

18 year old and Scotland international Emma Watson has joined Everton on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season. The young midfielder made her Manchester United debut in November of 2024 and is a player to look out for in the future.

Experienced Welsh international Hayley Ladd has signed with Everton until 2026 after leaving Manchester United. Ladd signed with United in 2019 and had been an important player in The Red Devils' squad.

These new signings may be what Everton need in order to move up the table from their current position of 9th on the WSL table.

On the 9th of January, Liverpool announced that Chelsea’s Júlia Bartel will be joining them on loan until the end of the season. The 20 year old midfielder joined Chelsea after a move from Barcelona last summer. She made several appearances for the Barcelona first team with more than 100 appearances for their ‘B’ team. She was also a key player for Spain in the U20s World Cup playing in every match.

Another rumour that was confirmed, was the signing of 23 year old Kayla Rendell with Manchester United from Southampton until 2027. The goalkeeper grew up in Southampton’s academy. Ever since Mary Earps left Manchester United to head to Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Manchester United have been looking for another goal keeper. The England U23s International may be just what United need.

Aston Villa announced the departure of 23 year old goalkeeper Anna Leat. This means that she could potentially sign with another WSL club.

Manchester City’s Chloe Kelly has had a lack of minutes so far this season only starting one match. A loan deal or a permanent deal elsewhere may help her secure a place in the 2025 England Euros squad.
