Last weekend Tottenham drew 0-0 to Arsenal in the North London Derby and went away with 1 point however Bristol lost 2-0 to Charlton giving away 3 much needed points. Bristol City manager Charlotte Healy said “we have to learn quickly now, lick our wounds and take stock of where we're at. We’ll make sure we add more to our game now and become even harder to play against”. Bristol City goalkeeper, Fran Bentley also said, “It's a difficult defeat to take but hopefully we will put things right and come back even stronger against spurs”

On his draw against Arsenal, Martin Ho said "In the first 45 minutes we were right on the front foot, we were aggressive and did a lot of things right. "I thought we were good value for three points tonight. It was little mistakes that we need to start cutting out which are starting to cost us games or cost us points in this case. 45 minutes we were right on the front foot; we were aggressive and did a lot of things right."

Bristol City Women have made an impressive start to the 2025/26 campaign in the WSL2, winning five of their opening eight matches and scoring 20 goals while conceding 12. Their strong home performances have played a major role in keeping them firmly in the promotion picture, supported by solid away form.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur Women have begun their WSL season with their best-ever points tally at this stage, taking 15 points from their first seven games under head coach Martin Ho. With three home wins out of four and a notably resilient defence, Spurs have shown a good balance between attacking threat and defensive structure, averaging 1.38 goals per match while keeping early clean sheets on the road.
