Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Norway international, Signe Gaupset on a long-term contract. The 20-year-old will officially join Tottenham on 1 January 2026, subject to international clearance and work permit.

Signe will wear the number 8 shirt for Spurs in the second half of 2025/26 Barclay's Women's Super League season.
"When I have spoken to people at the club, the project and everything around it, it just seems really good." Said Gaupset. "This is a good place for me to be a better footballer, to develop more and be as good as possible."
"We're thrilled to welcome Signe to Tottenham Hotspur and to bring a player of her calibre into our environment." Said Head-Coach Martin Ho. "She is a terrific person before anything else, and an exceptional footballer whose professionalism, ambition and personality will strengthen our squad."
Life After SK Brann
Signe spent four years at SK Brann, making 73 appearances and scoring 20 goals. Her breakthrough came in 2022, when she helped Brann claim the Norwegian Cup with a brace in a 3-1 win. In the following season she shone under the leadership of Martin Ho. She helped SK Brann reach the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first time.
Comfortable operating in midfield or in more advanced wide roles, Gaupset brings intelligence and balance to any setup. Whether linking play, pressing high, or driving forward in possession, she adjusts smoothly to the demands of different systems and positions.
While not a traditional midfielder, Gaupset consistently made an impact in advanced areas. Defensively, she showed maturity in duels, strength in her recovery work and real discipline without the ball qualities that allowed her to compete confidently at WSL level. These are the exact kind of attributes Tottenham will look to harness as she settles into her new role in North London.
It was confirmed on 21 November 2025 that she left SK Brann to join Tottenham, which marks the next step in her career as she continues to compete at the highest level of the women's game.
What Signe brings to Tottenham
Gaupset is known for her composure and intelligence in midfield, comfortable operating as a central presence or drifting into more advanced areas. She brings energy, ball control and sharp decision-making, making her an exciting addition to Tottenham's squad under Martin Ho.
Although she has primarily operated as a midfielder, there's a strong case for Gaupset to take on a more advanced and round technical role at Tottenham. With her all-round technical quality, intelligence and work rate, she has the potential to establish herself as a regular starter for Spurs as she continues to develop.
International Team
Having made her senior debut for Norway in 2024, Gaupset has already established herself on the international stage. She has represented her country throughout the youth system and remains a promising figure for the senior squad, viewed as one of the emerging midfield talents in Norwegian football.
Gaupset recently featured for Norway at the UEFA Women's Euro 2025, where the team topped their group with a series of disciplined performances. She appeared in all three matches, fulfilling her usual duties in midfield. In a particularly demanding fixture against one of the tournament's strongest sides, she worked tirelessly, covering ground, helping Norway maintain their structure and showing maturity beyond her years despite the pressure of the occasion.
While Norway advanced as group winners, the team still faced demanding moments throughout the tournament, offering midfield stability, discipline and maturity as Norway progressed to the knock-out rounds.
What This Move Means
This signing signals real intent from Tottenham, who are looking to push on after an inconsistent campaign. Gaupset's energy, control in midfield and calmness in possession could prove crucial as the club aims to build momentum and climb the WSL table.
It's a big step for Gaupset and an exciting introduction to the Women's Super League. She's a significant addition for Tottenham, bringing technical quality, maturity in midfield and a strong work ethic on and off the ball. Spurs fans will be eager to see how she fits Martin Ho's side in the second half of the season.
