The home’s side’s top player today was Young Lioness, Freya Godfrey, getting on the scoresheet twice, by opening and closing the scoring. She was a standout player throughout the game and provided all kinds of contributions to London City. Jocelyn Precheur added some comments on Freya Godfrey’s contributions to the game today, “Freya is a talented young player and is starting to build some great confidence and she will continue to develop.”
Jocelyn Precheur reflected on today’s important win, “We knew it would be a tough game heading into the match. I am very satisfied with the victory. If you want to reach a good level, you need to be able to perform in different ways. It’s a balance. Defensively and offensively, we were very strong and we were efficient”.
London City will be heading to Aston Villa on Sunday 16th November, and will be looking to take all three points and move up to 5th.
Early in the first half, Tottenham Hotspur managed to equalise via a spot kick, with summer signing, Tandberg, putting the ball in the back of the net. Throughout this campaign, Tandberg has been a key player for Martin Ho’s side, scoring 4 goals to help the Lillywhites.
Despite the heavy defeat for Tottenham Hotspur, they sit on level points with direct rivals, Arsenal, who they will face in Gameweek 9 of the Women’s Super League and Tandberg will be looking to add to her tally of goals in the Women’s Super League.
