Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal this Sunday, 16th November at 2:30pm, at Brisbane Road, as the iconic North London Derby returns once again! These 2 teams have gone head-to-head 11 times in the league since Tottenham were promoted to the WSL at the end of the 2019/20 season; Arsenal have won nine of those meetings, Spurs have won one, and one has ended in a draw.

Tottenham currently sit 5th in the WSL table after eight games, with five wins (against West Ham, Everton, Leicester, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool) and three losses (to Manchester City, Chelsea, and London City Lionesses); they are yet to draw a match. Spurs have scored 11 goals and conceded 12, keeping three clean sheets: one in their 1–0 victory over West Ham in the opening game of the season and others in their 2–0 win against Everton, and their 1–0 win over Brighton.

Meanwhile Arsenal are 4th in the WSL; they have won four of their opening eight matches (against London City Lionesses, West Ham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester), drawn three (against Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Chelsea), and lost one (against Manchester City). So far, they have scored 15 goals, conceded 7, and kept two clean sheets: one in their 1–0 win over Brighton and the other in their 0–0 draw with Manchester United.

Both teams have had standout players throughout the start of this WSL campaign, along with notable squad changes since their last meeting back in February. Arsenal brought in Canadian forward Olivia Smith from Liverpool, the PFA Young Player of the Year 2024/25, a record-breaking signing at the time, and permanently signed English forward Chloe Kelly, following her loan spell from Manchester City at the back end of last season; both players bringing creativity, passion and a huge attacking threat. For Tottenham, former academy graduate English forward Lenna Gunning-Williams has had a great start to the season after signing a contract extension, already impressing fans with her energy and involvement within games and the signing of Norwegian forward  Canthinka Tandberg from Hammarby IF has already made an instant impact, scoring goals from all ranges and posing an attacking threat for her opponents; adding a new dimension to the Spurs’ attack.

With both teams hungry for points and continuing to carry a strong momentum into upcoming fixtures, the historic North London Derby is shaping up to be another thrilling head-to-head; one where passion, intensity, desire and local pride will be on full display as both sides fight to claim North London until the next meeting.
